The Mol Switch Project Outcomes

Deliverable 2.1: Protein preparation & DNA substrates

Ports will provide to the appropriate partners purified proteins for assembly of the molecular motor(s) of interest and suitably modified DNA substrates ready for surface attachment, bead attachment etc.  This work will continue throughout the project as means of maintaining fresh material as required.

Outcomes:

Proteins and DNA were provided to the partners as required.

Ports purchased, with financial help from NPL, TUDelft and ENS/CNRS (and with prior permission from the Project Officer) a dedicated FPLC for protein production.  This has speeded-up protein production and simplified MTase preparation.  We have improved methodologies, with increasing experience, producing better yields.  Where requested, by the Partners, materials have been provided as quickly as possible.
