Following initial funding from BTG International Limited and now additional support from EPSRC we have established a Nanotechnology Network with an overall interest in Biological Systems that might be used in Nanotechnology and, in particular, molecular machines.

The Network Membership includes a number of UK-based scientists working in the area of molecular motors, but we will extend this list of scientists through this internet site.  The VIRTUAL NETWORK area allows registration of new members and provides a forum for discussion of specific subjects of interest to NanoNet Members.

We have also included scientists from outside the UK who have experience in this area. This includes a number of individuals and teams who are working in the area of single-molecule experimentation, which is fundamental to the development of Nanotechnology. In addition, we have members from the main scientific disciplines involved in Nanotechnology - Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Engineering and Mathematics.

The primary aim of the Network is create links between scientists working in a variety of areas that are linked through a mutual interest in MOLECULAR MACHINES.  These aims are supported through NanoNet Bursaries, bi-annual Workshops and a Virtual Network discussion area that allows secure exchange of information.

NanoNet also hosts bi-annual Workshops covering a wide-range of subjects relevant to the main interests of the Network. These Workshops are also delivered from the NanoNet Virtual Network Site (for members only) as recorded video streams (usually linked to the PowerPoint Presentation used). This allows Members who were unable to attend the Workshops to 'catch-up' on material they would have liked to see.
A demonstration of a video stream is available for guests who are considering membership of NanoNet:
